The LaPazz^TM D-Note^TM DLA401 consists of a lightweight, ultra-portable digital note recorder that allows users to instantly capture notes or diagrams written in ink on normal paper, and store them as digital pages in a built-in 32MB flash memory. You can then download the digital pages to a desktop or notebook PC for viewing, editing, or sharing by e-mail. The included Digital Organizer Software allows you to organize Digital Notes on your hard disk, and view, edit and annotate them. You can also copy and paste your notes into programs such as Word, attach them to your email messages or export and save in formats such as PDF, JPG and BMP. This unit is also supplied with a trial version of MyScript Notes For U v2.1 software that converts your handwritten notes from D-Note into digital text - and it supports 17 languages. The Digital Note Recorder can also be used a Graphic Tablet Input Device when attached to the USB port of your PC. The D-Note pen also works as a one-button mouse. You can draw pictures and make freehand annotation more naturally in applications such as Microsoft Painter and the Electronic Whiteboard function of Microsoft NetMeeting. It supports both portrait and landscape modes. The writing area is the area where the paper pad is placed and everything you write or draw with the digital ink pen is captured by its built in digitizer. The writing area of your A4 (8.5" x 11") paper pad is 8.27" x 10.35" (210 x 263 mm) and you can use any pad up to 1/4" (7.0 mm) thick. The Digital Note Recorder has an internal storage capacity of 32MB, which equals approximately 75 digital pages (depending on page contents).

The Digital Note Recorder can be used in any situation where both a paper hardcopy and a digitized soft copy is required, such as taking meeting minutes and lecture notes, but also in the electronic capture of signatures, the processing of police and medical records, or to conduct polls and the completion of forms. The CD bundled with the LaPazz D-Note DLA401 includes the Digital Organizer Software and drivers for Windows VISTA, XP and  2000.  Additional software in the bundle includes, a trial version of MyScript Notes For U v2.1 software that converts your handwritten notes from D-Note into digital text (supports 17 languages - see below).
