Beautiful vintage hardcover book titled ART NOUVEAU and ART DECO LIGHTING.  author Alastair Duncan, published by Simon and Schuster New York, copyright 1978 Thames and Hudson London, first edition (number line includes a 1), 208 pgs, 9.00x10.25 inches.
 
Condition is excellent. Hardcover book is bound in dark red cloth with gilt title on spine. Minor ex-library stamps. Inside the pages are clean and tight with some mild tanning. Dust jacket has tanning and mild edgewear.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A BOOK, I DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE LAMPS.
 
Hundreds of gorgeous color and black and white photos, most with informative and detailed captions, take up most of the book.  The text is a discussion of lighting techniques up to and including the 1900 and 1925 eras, biographies of Art Nouveau and Art Deco designers, glossaries of lighting terminology and manufacturing techniques, a general bibliography, and a list of designers with their individual bibliographies. The author of this book Alastair Duncan is (was?) Christie's Art Nouveau and Art Deco expert in New York. Artfully arranged, clearly organized and a beautiful book,  it belongs in the library of every lover of Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and fantastic lamps and lighting of all kinds.
