Description: You are bidding for a stunning and very interesting antique music book. It is titled 'A catalogue of the works of Kalkbrenner'. We cannot find a date but we suggest that this is dated between 1832 and 1850

It is published by Clementi, Collard & Collard 26 Cheapside, London

Friedrich Wilhelm Kalkbrenner (7 November 1785–10 June 1849) was a German pianist and composer.

Son of Christian Kalkbrenner (1755-1806), a musician of Cassel, Friedrich was educated at the Paris Conservatoire, and soon began to play in public. From 1814 to 1823 he was well known as a brilliant performer and a successful teacher in London, and then settled in Paris, dying at Enghien, near there, in 1849.

As a teacher Kalkbrenner developed a piano playing technique that kept the musician's strength in the fingers and hands, instead of the forearm. This technique was used by his student Camille-Marie Stamaty, who taught it to his student, Camille Saint-Saëns.

He became a member of the Paris piano-manufacturing firm of Pleyel & Co., and made a fortune by his business and his art combined. His numerous compositions are little remembered today.

This is a stunning and interesting antique music book that would be of interesting for any one who like to play the piano music by instruction as it was in this period. It would certainly compliment any collection or display.

Condition: We have looked at this in depth and it is of our opinion that it is in the good condition as shown in the detailed photos below. As you will see the front cover is detached and there maybe the front page missing, this isn't that important has the music is there Checked:(sp14/10/09)

Postage

Ireland, Postage to Ireland is not the same as mainland UK, parcelforce charge us extra for going over water usually no more than an extra £10 to the quoted UK postage charge. smaller items sent to Ireland by Royal Mail first class is the same as UK mainland stated. Delivery (larger items)

Anything and everything can be delivered the main obstacle is cost. We have a network of delivery agents who frequently deliver up and down the country, the prices for mainland UK are between £70 - £100 depending on distance and location. We can also have the item delivered to the overseas but this can be expensive, please find the estimated price before bidding. We believe there should be nothing stopping you from bidding
Hand delivered costs are paid to the driver as we make no money on this service we don't want the paperwork.
Payment for hand delivered items must have cleared before delivery there is no cash on delivery service

even though we pack very well and brace pictures very securly, we are not insured for glass broken in transit. If the glass is broken in transit we will pay towards the new glass (The price will be found by contacting a local glass provider) we will not refund for the item.
