Whimsical WHEN PIGS FLY Flying Winged Angel Figure is imported from Bali. Hand Carved suar (Rain Tree) wood with hand painted details in black, maple, metallic gold and deep red inks. Primitive Folk styled kite sculpture is approximately 6" tall x 10" long. Attached wound-hemp cord & hook are attached for immediate display.

Some facts about Balinese TAKSU…..

TAKSU are carved symbolic figures from Bali.  These Folk Figures celebrate life as they are believed to hold the very spirit of the Balinese animals, people and their culture.  TAKSU also give life, as the artists that put themselves into TAKSU produce the primary income for this exotic, magickal island.

Carved TAKSU spirit figures are almost always made of:

ALBESIA (soft, white wood), SUAR (maple-like wood from Rain Trees), or MAHOGANY (hard, rich red wood). 

Each is hand-carved and hand-painted, so each is unique unto itself; just like the figures they represent.  You do not have to look hard to see the living spirit within each figure.

PIGS REPRESENT WEALTH and are meant to display at your entranceway, in the kitchen or above where you work. Perfect gifts for weddings, new home, or new job.
