…… Printed in 1857 by Dick & Fitzgerald of New York City, this Antique Book is titled “The Magician’s Own Book, or The Whole Art of Conjuring.” This book is a “Complete Handbook of Parlor Magic. Containing over 1000 optical, chemical, mechanical, magnetical, and magical experiments, amusing transmutations, astonishing sleights and subtleties, celebrated card deceptions, ingenious tricks with numbers, curious and entertaining puzzles, together with all the most noted tricks of modern performers.” There are over 500 woodcuts depicting props, and all you need to know in order to perform these many tricks. This magic book measures 5 ½” by 7 ½” by 1 ¼” thick and contains all 362 and illustrations. All the pages are in very good condition however, there is some foxing, especially to the first few pages. The binding is still strong, however, there are rubs to the corners and edges as well as some staining to the covers.
