W. C. DUYCKINCK'S
1877 TOOL CATALOG
filled with wrenches, blacksmith tools, steam gauges, and much more!

W.C. Duyckinck of New York City was one of those great mercantile houses, similar to today's McMaster-Carr or Grainger's. They could supply you with ANYTHING from a 1/8" Swedish iron stove rivet to a locomotive watering standpipe; from a set screw to steam hoisting engine!

This is a reprint of their 1877 illustrated catalog of supplies for railroads, steamships, machinists, mills, and miners! A giant catalog of tools, tools and yet more tools! These are the tools with which the mid-Victorian engineer created the industrial revolution, the vast variety of interchangeably threaded fasteners that allowed for mass production, and the first of the "off the shelf" components, themselves products of the machine revolution.

Altogether there are 192 numbered pages plus index laser printed on 8 1/2 x 11" paper, staple bound. Pages and pages of pumps, rail straighteners, boiler drills, blacksmith swages and anvils, specialized hammers, calipers and wrenches of all sorts! This catalog is particularly useful for identifying the earlier patterns of commercial wrenches. There is also an extensive section on blacksmith tools, forges and blowers, plus a great deal of steam equipment. It is fully illustrated with wonderful Victorian engravings and is a wonderful guide to Victorian mechanical design whether you are a technology enthusiast or if you are trying to really nail down the currently popular "steampunk" look!

I am making this hard to find information available for the modest cost of $9.95 plus $2.85 for media mail delivery in the United States. Delivery to international destinations is $12.95 by priority flat rate envelope (Canada $6.20 by first class international mail). Happy bidding!
