In Ottawa Indian, Mishicot means “a place of shelter”. Fox Hills Resort was built in 1964 by Mr. Florenz Baugniet, a local mink rancher. He started the resort by opening a 9 hole golf course, supper club, lounge, and pro shop. In 1972, 52 hotel rooms were built along with an indoor pool and 18 additional holes of golf. Then, between 1973 and 1984, 55 additional hotel rooms, the conference center with meeting space, and condo buildings were added. The final addition was made in 1988 with the completion of The National course, which brought the resort to 45 holes of golf.
More renovations were done in 2006. The on-site restaurant was moved from the lower part of the bar to what formerly was the Blue Room (a meeting space for up to 60 people). The room was completely renovated and is now known as The Willowview Restaurant. The bar also got a facelift, starting with a new name. Now known as Benchwarmers Sports Bar, the lower part of the bar plays host to weekend entertainment, pool tables, dart boards, and plenty of room to dance. The upper part of the bar offers ample seating and LCD flat screen TV’s. Also in 2006, came the addition of our indoor wedding chapel. This space offers a great alternative for many couples and a beautiful back up room for our numerous outdoor ceremonies.
Today, Fox Hills Resort is a beautiful 500 acre resort that features one of Wisconsin’s finest golf facilities with 45 holes of Challenging golf including our 18 hole National Championship Links course and our 27 hole Fox Creek course.
Once guests arrive on property, they never need to leave. Fox Hills Resort features 336 guest rooms and villa suites, 4 swimming pools, Fitness Center, The Oasis Spa, The Willowview Restaurant, and Benchwarmers Sports Bar featuring daily food and drink specials and live weekend entertainment.
We also have 15,000 sq. feet of flexible meeting and wedding space and offer picturesque outdoor ceremony sites, a beautiful indoor wedding chapel, and elegant indoor reception sites. |
