This is a very interesting game from Mattel, produced in 1986. The game is called CATHEDRAL and is THE STRATEGIC BATTLE FOR THE MEDIEVAL CITY. While it is not chess, it plays similar to chess and I believe anyone who likes to play chess, will really enjoy this game. We played it for hours and hours over the years but it is time to clean out some of our games. The game is a 2 player strategy game for ages 10 to adult. The base of the game is made of plastic as are the pieces. There are pieces shaped like a tavern, stable, inn, bridge, manor, square, Abbey, Infirmary, Castle, Tower, Academy and Cathedral. Some of the directions in part read: IT IS THE YEAR 1500. A BATTLE RAGES IN THE MEDIEVAL CITY..HE WHO CONTROLS THE LAND CONTROLS THE CITY! WITHIN THE CITY(the base game board), THE CATHEDRAL STANDS ALONG, A SANCTUARY FROM THE STRUGGLE. IT IS A GAME OF INTRIGUE AND STRATEGY....OF MOVES AND COUNTERMOVES TO OCCUPY AND CONTROL AS MUCH OF THE CITY AS YOU CAN. The game is used but complete(with instructions) and in near mint condition. It is a large game as the box(and plastic base of the game)measures 12" square. The box has some wear on the sides but overall is in very good+ condition. This really is a challenging and intrigueing game to play.

I strongly recommend that the buyer purchase insurance. Items are sent in the USA with delivery confirmation. International bidders are welcome on most items I have listed. Please ask for the shipping cost before you bid. Postage is all based on the weight of the package. In general if the item is over 4 pounds it must be sent priority mail. Insurance coverage is only possible with priority mailing. 1st Class International Mail carries no insurance or tracking coverage.
