YOU ARE BIDDING ON A NEW SEALED GOSPEL ALBUM FROM THE FANTASTIC BLUEGRASS BAND **APPALACHIAN EXPRESS.** THIS CD IS NOT PROMOTIONAL, IT HAS NO HOLES OR SAW CUTS IN THE CASE IT IS ORIGINAL AND IT COMES TO YOU IN MINT CONDITION. THIS WOULD BE A GOOD CHANCE TO PICK UP SOME BEAUTIFUL BLUEGRASS GOSPEL AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. Appalachian Express is refreshed, revamped, and revised, with a new project slated to be released on Rebel Records in the summer of 2003! Many people will remember them from their many years of playing the festival circuit through out the United States. Always fan favorites, they have garnered numerous awards over the years including, first place in the SPBGMA band competition in Nashville Tennessee, and a Grammy nomination for bluegrass album of the year!! Appalachian Express has always been admired for their tight vocal harmonies, clean hard driving music, and the ability to put on an amazing show. So who is in the band? On banjo from Amelia Virginia is A.E. mainstay Clyde Bailey. Known for his clean driving banjo playing and top notch harmony vocals, Clyde has won the Virginia State banjo Championship numerous times. Handling the lead vocals and guitar duties from Pittsylvania County Virginia is Glenn Waller. He not only sing the songs, he writes them as well! The new project features two of Glenn's originals. With a lead vocal very reminiscent of Dan Tyminski or Junior Sisk, Glenn can handle everything from hard driving to contemporary masterfully. He has played with many notables, including First Place Band 1996 at the World Famous Galax Old Fiddler's Convention with his band, Second Helpin'. The Resonator Guitar is handled masterfully by Ernie Power, from Martinsville Virginia. Ernie is a veteran studio musician with many recordings under his belt. Accustomed to life on the road, Ernie traveled the nation for years with the popular Steven's Sisters. If there were one, Ernie would receive the ''most standing ovations in a single show'' award! To watch Ernie play the resonator guitar is a show onto itself. Providing a rock solid musical foundation with the bass is Jeff Ellis, from Moneta Virginia. At only 25 don't let his tender years fool you. Jeff was born with bluegrass in his head. Jeff began playing Bass professionally with his fathers band when he was barley in his teens. Since then Jeff has won numerous musicianship awards and top honors including First Place Band in both the World Famous Galax Fiddler's Convention Band Competition and the Virginia State Band Championship in 1998, with the band Common Ground. Most recently he won First Place Bass and Second Place Guitar in the 2002 Virginia State Championship. He also garnered Second Place Guitar at the World Famous Galax Fiddler's Convention in 2002! If you come out to an A.E. show you will be amazed at this young man's ability to pick! The last member of the band is mandolin player, singer, and songwriter Malcolm Pulley, from the Richmond Virginia area. He is most known for penning the 1996 IBMA Song of the Year finial nominee ''In The Gravel Yard'' (as recorded by Blue Highway). Malcolm has written songs recorded by several other well-known bluegrasses as well including, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, James King and Tina Addair. Malcolm has performed with several bands across the Virginia area including the popular James Bailey and Company. With a one of a kind sense of humor and stellar mandolin playing, A.E. is thrilled to have him. ~ iBluegrass.com C O U N T R Y - M U S I C - A T - I T’S - B E S T
