I have reprinted the chapter on steam cars from the 1920 edition of Automobile Engineering published by the American Technical Society. At this time steam cars were produced by only two companies in America, Stanley and Doble. After an overview of basic steam principles the authors examine the salient features of the Stanley and Doble machines. Doble had not yet moved to California and the Doble automobiles described are the "Detroit Dobles" or General Engineering Dobles as they are sometimes known.

Altogether there are 67 pages of information laser printed on 8 1/2" x 11" paper staple bound. All of the images shown here are drawn from this text. I am offering this hard-to-find information for the modest price of $5.95 plus $2.50 for first class mail delivery in the US.
