This fine Victorian Secretary Desk weighs approximately 145 pounds, and measures 87 ½” in height (from the floor to the top of the crown), 40 ¾” in width (crown), 37 ¾” in width (body) and 22” in depth.  The space from the floor to the underside of the pull-out writing surface measures 28 ½” in height.  This lovely Walnut Victorian Slant Front Secretary Desk with Bookcase Top, Burl Accents and Fancy Incised Carved Crown breaks down into three pieces for transport, is full of character, and is just waiting for its place of prominence in your home!

The bookcase top is graced with a  beautiful incised carved shell scalloped crown that sits on the gorgeous top crown moulding.  Raised  horizontal burl panels  with a center rosette roundel  are found beneath the crown moulding and raised vertical burl panels are found on the sides of the doors.  There is an intact lock on the glass doors along with a working key and two adjustable shelves which provide display opportunity.

The elegance continues on the slant front door which is graced with a lovely large raised octagonal-shaped burl panel. This elegant slant front door opens to reveal a handsome black leather writing surface along with six pigeon hole cubbies, three small drawers with wooden pulls, and four large file slots. This raised burl panel detailing found on the elegant slant front door is repeated on the large center drawer and on the bottom doors. The large center drawer has Knapp joinery construction, period brass hardware, an intact lock and working key.  The lovely bottom doors also have an intact working lock and can be opened with the key that also works with the bookcase doors and open to reveal a removable storage shelf.  Finally, the sides of the secretary base are adorned with incised carved sconces.
