Octagonal - Opaque White Base

This is a lovely antique oil/Kerosene Stand Lamp with a large colorless font and an octagonal shape, opaque white glass base. 

The font is surrounded with a center band of ribs - on the outside -  in the EAPG pattern:  "Giant Prism" - as identified in OIL LAMPS The Kerosene Era in North America, by Catherine M.V. Thuro - pg.160-161.

10 1/2" tall,  

4 3/4" diameter base,  8-2" long sides,  font - about  5 1/2" diameter

This base is different from the one shown in the 'Thuro' example cited.  A milk glass, opalware base attributed to Atterbury and probably not original to the font - seems to be a nice "old" marriage - parts have been plastered together - some time ago. 

Condition:  Excellent - two very light scratches/scuffs to the top portion of the font, crystal clear - no sickness or residue,  some mold roughness around the bottom edge of the base, but...  

- NO chips or cracks!
