VINTAGE 1950s LION WITH CROWN HAT COOKIE JAR JAPAN EXCL
This is a Wonderful Vintage Cookie Jar. It is an adorable lion with a crown / hat lid holding a gift between his paws. The cookie jar is glazed in mustard yellow and gold with chocolate brown and grass green accents. The jar is large... it measures approx. 10.75" t x 7.25" w x 6.5" d. The bottom is marked "Japan". This cookie jar has been stored away for a long time. There appears to be a surface hairline in the glaze of the crown, it doesn't go through the ceramic... and it still has a rings "true". Other than that, it is in excellent vintage condition. Please see photos for details. A perfect addition to a cookie jar collection or for your next batch of cookies.

We are extremely careful and thorough in our wrapping and shipping. We wrap each item with care to insure your purchase arrives safely. We use large quantities of paper, tissue paper, plastic bags/wrap, styrofoam, peanuts, bubble bags, tape, envelopes, boxes, etc, etc. We recycle and try our best to keep these costs down. But, unfortunately the cost of these items keeps rising. As of 1/4/10, the US Post Office has modified shipping charges. Charges have been increased and a new fee structure based on zone has been implemented. Shipping charges are now not only based on weight, but also based on size and location of both the seller and the buyer. Please keep this in mind when evaluating our shipping and handling charges. Our normal shipping schedule is 2 days a week, Thursday and Friday. If your payment is received by 10:00 AM (Eastern Time... We are in North Eastern, PA) Wednesday and Thursday, your package will be shipped that day (depending on postal pickup). If payment is received on any other day, your purchase will be shipped the following Wednesday. If you require other shipping arrangements, please contact us to confirm. For some listings, where there is a significant cost difference, shipping service (ie. Priority, Parcel Post, First Class, etc.) is left to you. Please keep in mind, delivery times can vary significantly, based on choice. We have experienced Parcel Post deliveries taking 3 - 4+ weeks. Unfortunately, this is out of our control. We combine shipping. If an item is lost or damaged, and the package is insured, buyer must file claim as required by insurer. Many of the items we list are wonderful vintage items. We do our best to describe them in detail and provide many photos. We do not omit any information. But, only you know what information is important to you. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have prior to bidding. We will respond as quickly as possible. Keep in mind unless the item is sold as "new", it has been used and evidence of use should be expected. All items are sold as is.
