Description
GETAWAY: Black Monday for the PS2 is a sequel to Sony’s GETAWAY, which was released in 2003. In the sequel, players take on the roles of three different characters, each with their own unique storyline that ties into the overarching plot revolving around a Latvian gang and the heists they have planned. The game is set in London and features authentic voice acting and locations. First, players follow police Sergeant Ben Mitchell as he investigates the Latvian gang. Mitchell has a variety of weapons at his disposal, plus he has the unique ability to arrest criminals. Then the story shifts to boxer turned bodyguard Eddie. In addition to weapons, Eddie can use his boxing abilities to take down his enemies, plus he can dual-wield some weapons for double the damage. Finally, players take on the role of Sam, a young crook. While Sam has no weapons, she has the ability to sneak past her enemies. In addition to the main game, there are several mini-games that are unlocked after clearing all three missions. They include a race mode, taxi-driving mode, free roam mode, and chase mode. These modes include the vehicles Mitchell, Eddie, and Sam use throughout the game. Gamers who played the first GETAWAY game will enjoy the return to the world of crime that GETAWAY: Black Monday provides. Fans of shooter games or police/crime games will also want to pick up the game.
