1890s- 1920s Huge PAPAGO (?) Storage BASKET with Stair Step Design
 
This huge Native American storage basket came from the estate of a woman who traveled extensively in the Southwest in the 1940s.  We estimate the basket from the late 19th to early 20th Century and that it is possiblely Papago from the dark woven 'stair step' design. The basket stands 15 inches at its tallest point and is 14 inches at its widest. This wonderful basket has been lovingly used and its shape shows this, along with the wear on the bottom, and rim lip.  Please view extensive photos and feel free to ask questions.  Would be a rare addition to any collection.

Diameter of base:  6 1/2 inches
