After what seems like a lifetime practicing medicine in a big city hospital, Dr. Sam Gray has moved to Salt Flats to take over the practice of retiring physician Dr. Floyd. He has always wanted to work in a small town where the doors remain unlocked and neighbors say hello using a name.
No way could Sam and Kate make a match of it even when love enters the equation. Kate cannot let go of the memory of her high school sweetheart who she vowed to love forever even though she knows that Ed would tell her to get him and get on with her life. Sam wants Kate like no other woman he ever met, but he realizes the competition with her late spouse is too difficult for him to surmount.
