The Invaders

Length: 40 Minutes | Produced:1912

A no-nonsense western from the early days of cinema, The Invaders is a dramatic depiction of realistic events close to the civil war concerning a conflict between Native Americans and the American government. A treaty was made over land rights, but the local whites dont respect it and the government wont enforce the law for the Native Americans. This leads to battle, where the action sequences are sharp and genuinely representative. Uncommonly, the Native Americans acting in the film were actual Sioux people, and the dusty and weather beaten countryside that theyre placed on is authentic. The Invaders is so honest and far from a product of Hollywood that it could be considered a historical documentary, and is an invaluable chronicle of a bygone era.
