How to measure your head for proper fit.
Have someone help you, take an accurate seamstress measuring tape and place it around the circumference of the your head, about an inch above the ears. Place the tape where you want your hat to rest. Usually, that is just above the center of the forehead in front, and on the upslope of the back of the head. Because the back of your head is more angled than your forehead, it helps to have someone hold the tape in place in back. If you still aren't sure where to measure, you might want to put on a hat to see where it rests on your head, then measure where that hat rests. Keep the tape snug to make sure you get an accurate measurement. Many people measure too far down on their head and over estimate the size they need. Measure carefully!
TIP: Terry cloth, felt , replacement sweat bands and just about any fabric can be inserted inside the sweat band to adjust your hat for a perfect fit. Just place the tape or material inside between the hat and sweatband without sticking it. Then when the insert wears out, it will be easy to replace. You can buy small pieces of material at arts and craft stores and in the craft and fabric sections of discount stores.
