Pets are a lot of fun and are like a member of the family. There's alot of pride when you provide a special shelter for them. This pet house is made entirely of CEDAR. Cedar is a great insulator. The house comes fully assembled and is secured together with BOTH nails and screws .... making it very DURABLE. The interior is warm and the corners have been sealed to keep out drafts. The floor is elevated above the ground which will keep the occupants warm & dry.
The entrance is 7" x 7" which allows easy entrance and exit. The opening is also set off to the side so that pets can enter from one end and then create their nesting area in the opposite end ..... which most do. There is also a "wind block" inside the doorway to provide for added warmth. The windblock is removable, if needed. The entrance is slighthly elevated above the floor to help guard against bedding materials (cedar shavings, straw, etc) getting pushed out. An entrance wood strip is also attached inside to help keep the bedding inside. This strip is also removable. Finally, we have added a FIBERGLASS SHINGLED ROOF for added protection and warmth. Shingle color will be of an earth tone (desert tan, brown, rustic). The roof is angled backward, allowing for water drain off. The entire roof pivots back, allowing for quick inspection and cleaning of the interior.
OPTIONAL FEATURES:
INSULATION: For an additonal $10 per item, we will be happy to insulate the interior of this house. The insulation would consist of additional styrofoam & interior wood panels on all sides and the floor. Please note that by adding insulation, the interior volume decreases a little and the house may accomodate less occupants......see above measurements.
Aromatic RED CEDAR SHAVINGS BEDDING: $15 for approx @10lbs of cedar shavings. Shavings will cover approximately 2 cubic feet.......a sufficient amount for this size house with some extra. This bedding is great for extra odor control, it naturally helps keep fleas and insects away, and cedar oil helps promote shiny coats in pets. The cedar shavings provide a bedding pallet that will help keep pets warm.
DOOR FLAP: $5 for a basic door flap made of carpet/astroturf. We simply cut a piece of astroturf carpet and secure it in the doorway so that it acts as a doorway flap to block wind. The astroturf side is hidden on the house inside and the woven sisal carpet side is shown on the outside of house and blends in nicely with the house apprearance. Door flap is also removable or can be cut away, if needed.
HOUSE NAME PLATE: $10 for a 3" x 12" name plate that can be secured to the house. The name plate can be the pet's name, etc or some cute saying that will give visitors a chuckle. The longer the name (or letters) the smaller the font size. The letters are professionally typeset fonts which are latex laminated to a wooden board. The latex laminate allows it to withstand weather. Plate is shipped unattached so that customer can determine where it should be placed. Screws provided.
CEDAR SEAL: $10 to seal all cedar parts of the house (the interior is not sealed and is kept natural). Cedar is one of the best woods to use for outdoor items. It is a wood that can expand and contract with warm and cold weather. It is a great insulator and performs very well to outdoor use. After a period of time, cedar will begin to lighten to a beautiful silvery gray. However, if you want to keep cedar looking its TAN color longer, then a sealant is suggested. We use a product called CLEAR WOOD FINISH. It is low odor, water soluble, and penetrates deep into the pours of the cedar.......providing a clear coat of protection and preserving the tan color. We include information about the sealant for those requesting the CEDAR SEAL.
ESCAPE DOOR: $8 for a small 5x5 escape door (w/ door flap) located on the right side and toward the back. Sometimes customers want an emergency escape route for their cats.......especially for pet houses being used outdoors. If their main entrance is blocked by a predator, the escape door is a quick exit to safety. This is a popular feature for those getting a house for a Feral Cat.

TIP: To determine if this size house is best for your pet, create an outline (on the ground/carpet) of the inner volume measurement or the floor measurement. Use masking tape and create a tape outline on the ground. Then, place your pet(s) inside the outline to determine if the house is the appropriate size. Use a yardstick to gauge the vertical height. We have a total of 3 sizes to choose from. When choosing a size, remember that a house should be large enough for the pet to enter, make one full turn, and then lay down. Pet houses do not need to have alot of extra room. Too roomy of a house can be drafty. The purpose of a house is for the pet to retreat from the weather and have a place to stay warm.

Once payment is received and processed, we'll process your order and ship your package. It generally takes 5-7 business days for an item to arrive. However, many packages will get there sooner. Some larger items require a 2 week
transit time and that would be indicated in the listing. Each item is professionally & carefully packaged for it's safe arrival. We use different shipping carriers for different situations. Item as Described: We strive to give you as much information as possible in order for you
to make an informed buying decision (ie: quality-clear picture, product
dimensions, materials, detailed description, etc). If there is something

is that we want to give you as much information as needed, both in our
listings and in answers to your questions, so that you can be confident

Communication: We generally work in the shop all day and are able to answer your emails
either early morning or late evening. Your questions are very important to
us and we try to get back to you as soon as possible. We're always
appreciative when someone is considering doing business with us.
Once a purchase is made, we will communicate with you a number of times
during the transaction. We generally send our communications through
the ebay mail system. Communicating with you is of utmost importance to
us. If payment isn't made right away, we will send you an invoice for your

shipping address. 2. Once your item is shipped, we will notify you again by

Shipping time: Here at the Ark Workshop, an average day consists of BOXING UP &
SHIPPING PACKAGES, BUILDING PRODUCT, and PROCESSING
ORDERS & EMAILS. After payment is received, it generally takes about 5-7
business days for our packages to be processed, packed, and delivered.
Many times, items arrive sooner than that. We also have X LARGE items that
require more transit time and we indicate that in those listings (ie: please allow
2 weeks for delivery of this item). We carefully package each item to help
ensure it's safe arrival. Our products are generally larger and heavier, than
other seller's items, and we need to make sure that they are packaged
properly to avoid shipping damages. We also want you to know that WE DO
NOT CHARGE ANY HANDLING FEEs. We just ask that you allow the 5-7
business days for delivery so we can get everyone's packages to them safely.
We use different shipping carriers for different situations. Sometimes, a
package may get delayed by a carrier due to a routing error, misloading
situation, weather, etc. As mentioned earlier, we track your package during
its entire transit time and we will catch the problem early and do all that we
can to get it corrected. We hope that you are understanding to the
fact that a package getting delayed for this reason is something that is
out of our control. However, we promise you that we'll do everything we can
to resolve the shipping error and make you feel better about the delay.
Shipping &
Handling Charges: The majority of our listings are set up on shipping calculators. We have them
set up in this way so that buyers are charged exact shipping amounts. We
want you to have the comfort knowing that the shipping fee you are charged
is the rate calculated by ebay and the shipping carrier and that we have not
added any extra fees to your total. We simply plug in the box size & box
weight and your zip code determines your shipping rate. Shipping
rates are determined by box weight and not retail price. Sometimes
our prices might be close to the shipping rate. This can happen not because
our shipping rates are high, it's because our retail prices are close to
wholesale. Upon shipment, we always double check the accuracy of the rates
to make sure there are no overcharges. If we find a discrepancy, we will credit
back your paypal account and notify you that we did. Although it can
sometimes be expensive to ship an item, please remember that these
rates are not determined by us and that they are set by our shipping
carriers and your zip code. Also know that we will be willing to ship your
package in any way you wish. If you know of a less expensive way to ship,
we would be happy to send your package via that carrier. Also consider that a
lesser rate may mean that the carrier is going to have a longer delivery time..
