The Spectator, Volume the Seventh, London: Printed for J. and R. Tonson in the Strand. MDCCLXVII, 1767. Inscriptions from 1773 "Alexander Gillet's book" and another from Nov. 5th, 1779. Book is dedicated to Mr. Methuen. Fascinating collection of writings, musings, and ideas about life in London in the early 1700's. This edition is the large format of the Spectator versions, measuring 7" by 4". Many of the surviving copies are the smaller 4" editions. Original covers and spine still intact. There is minor foxing throughout the book, but does not affect the readability. There is some speckled dot stains on the front cover as pictured and long the page edges. This 242 year old book would
be a great collectible, gift, conversation piece, or addition to your
antique shelf. Payment is by Paypal within 7 days. Shipping is $4 by USPS media mail. Any questions just ask. Thanks for looking. Bidding starts at 99 cents. |
