This is Pictures that sell: A Guide to Successful Stock Photography, by Ray Daffurn and Roger Hicks A large hardcover book on the business and techniques of taking pictures for commercial libraries and sale. This book, written by two working photographers who shoot almost exclusively stock pictures, is about how picture libraries work, and above all, about the kind of pictures that sell. The first truly comprehensive book on the subject, it deals with everything from the choice of equipment to making a submission of pcitures to a library ... from travel photography to industrial photography; from shooting flowers to vintage cars; from architecture to zoos. Note: "R" or at least "PG13" rating for some artistic nudity. Hardcover, 189 pages, very good condition - slight wear to the dust jacket. 9" x 12" (about 23 cm x 30 cm) Some of the material refers to the days of film rather than digital photography, but the art of composition and exposure and the business/psychology of dealing with models and buyers hasn't changed! This is a particularly heavy book, and I don’t set the fees charged by Canada Post. In particular, Canada Post abolished its special book rate many years ago, and “Media Mail” is a US Postal Service product, not offered by Canada Post. Surface mail can take up to two months to Europe, and up to three months to Australia Multiple book orders can reduce the shipping cost per item! |
