ANTIQUE ENGLISH 15K GOLD DIAMOND PENDANT NECKLACE c1850 A super quality antique English, solid 15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) drop locket pendant; beautifully made, with fine hand engraved decoration, set with roughly one carat (maybe a touch less), of glistening foil backed rose-cut and old-cut diamonds & to the back a glazed locket compartment - easily accessed by a jeweller or handy person - and with an associated high quality, solid 15 carat gold chain necklace with elongated and twist links and fastened by a 15 carat bolt ring clasp.
Wow - a beautiful, very fine quality diamond pendant - ready to wear!
CONDITION: All original and very good, possibly an old repair to pendant's top ring. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use, tiny chip to one diamond - almost unnoticeable. Slight colour difference between top and bottom part, easily polished to match if desired.
DEFECTS: None.
DATE/MARKS: Pendant around 1850/60. Chain around 1900, tagged '15c', maker's marks JM. Bolt ring stamped '15'.
DIMENSIONS: Necklace 17 inches long, total pendant drop 49 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 11.0 grams.
