DICK TRACY 1950 STRIP ORIGINAL PROOF CHESTER GOULD ART

This is an original printed proof for the September 15, 1950 (9/15/50) Dick Tracy comic strip. It is a black and white proof of the original art which was done by creator Chester Gould. Great images of Tracy's Wrist Radio watch and Tracy being dug out of the coal! The proof measures approximately 10 1/2" by 3 1/4", and is on a high-quality coated proof stock material with a slightly glossy-type appearance (please note this is a printed proof, it is not the hand-drawn original artwork). It is in very good shape, with a nice appearance, having been maintained in pristine condition over the years and having very little sign of wear. The condition is all the more impressive given not only the age (almost 60 years old!), but also the fact that most production art from this era was not really taken care of, and was either discarded long ago, or left to suffer damage. Please note that this is NOT a mass-produced print or lithograph. This is a great example that would look fantastic framed, and would be a key piece in the collection of any Dick Tracy or comic strip fan.
