This auction is for a wonderful reference book titled
Three Centuries of Furniture.
A large showy coffee type book measuring 12 ½ x 9 ½ inches with 328 numbered pages and original Dust Jacket. Written by H. D. Molesworth and John Kenworthy-Browne. Mr. Molesworth is highly regarded as one of the foremost world authorities on furniture. He was on the staff of London's Victoria and Albert Museum and retired as Keeper in 1966. He also has written and edited many articles on furniture, art and sculpture. Mr. Brown studied at the Courtauld Institute of Fine Arts in London and well known for his work for Britain's National Trust and for his writings in the field of furniture and art in general.
There are over 500 spectacular color pictures in luxurious format. It is a most beautiful and authoritative book on furniture ever produced. Pictures have been chosen from the best of 17th, 18th, and 19th century furniture. The book represents craftsman from France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Scandinavia, Britain and the United States and other countries. This book was originally printed in Italy in 1969 by Fratelli Fabbri Editori, Milan, Italy. The English language text original copyright date is 1972 by Viking Press International.
