This is a lot of two general circulation magazines from the 1800s: 1) The Ladies Companion, New York, March, 1841, numbered pages 203-248 (actually page 248 has been misprinted as 148) this journal contains poems, sheet music, fiction and articles on Love, diamond rings and Ruth Fairfax. Loosely bound with visible thread it is in somewhat fragile condition with foxing throughout. No marks or notations; The second journal is Ballou's Monthly Magazine from December, 1866 published in Boston by Elliott. Thomes and Talbot. Numbered pages 423- 504. Price 15 cents. Contains poetry, fiction, cartoons, gossip, odd stories and advertising. Fragile and frayed condition with foxing, it has a wrap around sewn cover sheet. |
