If you are just beginning to accumulate some WWII AAF wings and are quickly finding yourself confused over the fantastic variety of wings that are listed on eBay, some of them cheap, some of them expensive, then this practical electronic publication should interest you.  If I had had this advice when I started collecting, I would have saved a lot of time and money.  This publication is intended to enable a beginner to avoid making costly mistakes and to help better identify eBay offerings.  You should be better equipped to target your accumulation rather than pick up a gaggle of too much low quality material.

For 4-years I have been participating in the WWII AAF wings market and have built a collection of over 200 wings.  In addition, I inherited my father’s WWII wings from his Eighth Air Force service in England.  My interest is more than casual, although I still don’t claim world-class expertise in the subject.  Many claims of such expertise are themselves a source of conjecture.

The deliverable is a CD containing a 14-page PDF file, organized with a table of contents and subheadings for easy navigation.  The wording is concise and it is well illustrated with a variety of well-lighted, well photographed wings to aid the learning process.  In addition, there are charts showing makers, aviation ratings, values, and relative rarities to help evaluate wings you may have found.  There is also a reference section that provides what I have found to be the very best sources of information both in print and on the web—another time and money saver.  Again, this is a basic primer for a beginner. I would be surprised if it doesn't pay for itself with just one successful purchase by helping you avoid overpaying.  And if you are an infrequent seller or just have a few wings to sell that you know little or nothing about, this publication should also be of interest.
