Disney World has become such a part of our popular culture

it seems as if it’s been open forever,

but the Magic Kingdom opened to the public on October 1, 1971.

This rare candy dish is a real Walt Disney World collector's item.

It is from the opening year of WALT DISNEY WORLD in Orlando, Florida(1971)

 and one of it's first souvenirs.

Even though it is 38 years old, it is still lovely.

No sign of scratching and it's colors are still bright as they were back then.

The gold edging around the top of the fluted, glass rim is still intact. 

Painted inside the candy dish, are scenes from many different park attractions,

 depicting Disney as it was at that time.

All of these are arranged in a circle around Cinderella's castle-

 the original "Magic Kingdom".

This is a must have for any Disney collector!!!

It measures 1-1/2" high and the width is 7 1/2".
