This first day cover, on the official stationery of the Mission of SOUTH AFRICA to the United Nations,  was prepared at  the request of the SOUTH AFRICA ambassador to the United Nations in celebration and commemoration of their flag on a United Nations postage stamp.

                                          The Mission diplomatic seal is also stamped on the First Day cover envelope.
