1940s Galion Ohio OH OLD EAST SCHOOL Pictures Photos

Up for bids are 12 never-before-seen photographs from East School in Galion, Ohio. These pictures are from the 1930s-1940s. Unfortunately none of them are marked.

GROUP 1:

*Street view of the OLD 1879 East School that was razed in 1936 to build the second school that is now abandoned. This view shows the little wooden attachment to the front.

*Group of school kids outside, probably in the field area behind the school.

*Girl in a classroom, probably 1st or 2nd grade. Blackboard in background and some kind of project hanging from the ceiling.

*Girls writing on the blackboard in the classroom. Wooden floor visable. Probably 3rd grade or so.

*Three tiny wallet size exchange photos. 2 are probably a teacher and the boy a student.

GROUP 2:

*Some kind of bird houses or coops behind the school.

*Group of school kids walking along a dirt road outside of the city.

*Kids playing in the grass at recess along a fence.

*Boy getting out of a car howlding some police gear. Probably 2nd grade.

*Group of kids standing on the sidewalk in front of the 1936 school.

Galion is should be ashamed for allowing all of their historic old schools to be destroyed.
