This auction is for the two tumbled Atlantisite or Stitchtite in Serpentine stones shown in the photos. They come from Tasmania, Australia.

Stitchtite is found in Serpentine rocks associated with Chromite. It is named for Robert Stich, general manager of the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company in Tasmania, Australia. It comes in lovely shades of pink through purple and has a hardness of 1.5 to 2 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. Besides Tasmania in Australia, it can be found in Canada, Morocco, South Africa, and Scotland.

Stitchtite's lovely shade of lilac/purple works with the Heart Chakra. It allows one to be gentle with oneself and others and to keep an open mind. It can be helpful in adapting children's behavior to more acceptable ways. It is said it can also bring a sense of calm to the environment.

Serpentine, a metamorphic rock, is a very common secondary mineral, resulting from a hot water alteration of magnesium silicates in magma. Serpentine minerals are light to dark green, black-green, brown-red, brown-yellow and white. The name Serpentine may come from the Latin word serpens, for "serpent", there are two explainations, one being a belief it cured a serpent's bite and the other that it resembled the skin of a serpent. Serpentine is found all over the world, but is most common in areas like California, Oregon, other areas around the Pacific Rim, Zimbabwe and the former Soviet Union.

It is said Serpentine can aid the rising of the Kundalini. Serpentine is an aid to meditation and is said to increase psychic abilities. It can bring a sense of calm and tranquility. It is grounding and can help alleviate depression.
