Rough stone:  2.6" x .9" x .8"    36.8 grams

Tumbled Stone:  2.1" x 1.25" x 1.1"     41.5 grams


Metamorphosis Quartz™ only comes from two mines in Minas Gerais, Brazil and both of these mines are currently closed.   This Quartz is clear yet foggy, with a silky feel and lovely chatoyance.   It contains small amounts of Hafnium, Barium, Copper, Nickel, Strontium, and Aluminum.  This quartz exhibits very unusual optical properties that can vary from specimen to specimen.  One is asterism the formation of stars from two-ray to twelve-ray!  Another is contra luz, a backlit opalescence which sometimes brings a halo to the specimen.  

In her new book,  "Love is in the Earth - The Crystal and Mineral Encyclopedia - The Liite Fantastic and The Last Testament", Melody describes Metamorphosis Quartz™ on page 627.  "This mineral is known as THE "stone of transformation", supporting the amplification of energy required for same." 

Offered here is a Tumbled and Rough stone of Metamorphosis Quartz.  They are suitable for pocket stones or layouts and grids.  They will come tucked in a pouch for storage.  These stones will also come with their Certificate of Authenticity.


This is a trademarked stone, be aware there are vendors selling milky quartz as Metamorphosis Quartz™.  These other quartz do not have the metaphysical or optical properties of Metamorphosis Quartz™.  The name was chosen for this quartz to reflect the qualities of the stone, which support the transformation to "Ouro Verde Quartz" by bombarding it with gamma rays.  Milky Quartz on the other hand would not change color and would  normally explode in the process!   Because of this problem, Earth Love Publishing, the publisher of Melody's books, the owner of the name,  has issued a certificate of authenticity to go with these stones.  Be sure you ask for a certificate to make sure you are getting genuine Metamorphosis™ Quartz.  These stones will come with their Certificate of Authenticity.
