I owned a Brick and Mortar Antique Store in the 1990's. I have closed my store and have sold on eBay for over 10 years. I have loved and collected antiques for 33+ years, and love finding that item you need to decorate your home and/or add to your collection.

I am a part-time ebayer and am not online all the time. Please know that I will reply to any emailed questions, and always check emails a few hours before the auctions end.

I am not an expert at everything sold, and I do not pretend to be. All items are sold as-is described/photoed. I inspect them when I photo and take pictures of damage found. I inspect again when I list, and attempt to disclose any known flaws or imperfections. If you see something not described, please let me know.

The Description includes the pictures, so please check them out carefully in case there is damage I missed.

Spent a very cold and wet 10 days selling items at the 2009 Covered Bridge Festival in Western Indiana. I love collectors though!!!, as they still came out in droves and I enjoy meeting my customers as much as I enjoy hearing from them on eBay.

Since the weather was "iffy" I decided to save my best items for my eBay Holiday auctions. I know that the holidays seem far away, but I will not sell past the 2nd week of December and I have LOTS of high quality items to sell. I save my best items every year for my Holiday sales.

This week I am selling an eclectic assortment, several wonderful Art Deco Name China pieces, will arrive in plenty of time for Thanksgiving! along with some very unique items, suitable for gift giving. You never know what I might find to sell, so make sure and check out my other auctions.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

This auction is for several pieces of high quality, Haviland Limoges china, interesting items and I am not sure that I have identified their purpose correctly, see picts.

These pieces of Haviland have a thick gold trim around the rims of the cups and the rims of the saucers.  The white porcelain is molded with scallops and ribbing on the sides of the cups, the incredible quality that you expect from Haviland. 

These pieces were purchased at an estate sale, I was able to purchase 1/2 the original set of 8 pieces, someone else had grabbed the other 1/2.   I love the look of Haviland, especially with gold trims, so I displayed these in my parlor and have spent several months trying to determine what they are.    The are obviously handleless / handle less cups with saucers, but seems like the scalloped rim would make it very difficult to drink coffee, but I did not try it so this might be a misperception on my part. 

If they are not coffee cups then my next guess would be that they are nut cups, or used to hold individual servings of special treats or desserts? 

They are beautiful and they display nicely, whatever they are, see picts.   I will let the collectors decide what they are and where they will be displayed on their dinner tables.  I know that the soft Haviland white porcelain and gold will blend with the majority of fine porcelains, whatever you decide to use them for. 

These pieces are well marked, double marked on the bottom of saucer and cup, "Haviland France" is in the green stamp and "Haviland & Co. Limoges" in the red stamp, see picts. 

The cups have an approx. diameter at the top of 3 1/4 inches and are approx. 1 3/8 inches tall to the top of a scallop.  The saucer is approx. 5 1/8 inches in diameter. 

There are no chips, cracks or hairlines on any of these pieces, considered in very good condition for their age, these pieces are ready to use. 

This elegant set, a total of 8 pieces of Haviland would make a GREAT one-of-a-kind GIFT, a hard to find shape/item, and Haviland is so very collectible.   Whether you split it up among your 4 closest friends, or coffee cup collectors or give them as a set these pieces will be appreciated. 

This auction lot will weigh 4 pound, packed to ship, and will be shipped via UPS which includes insurance. It will be shipped from zip code 47869. The eBay shipping cost estimator does not seem to be working for packages going to the Western United States. If the shipping seems too high and you are not comfortable calcing it yourself, PLEASE send me your zip code and I will be happy to send you cost information.

I am told that my descriptions are too wordy, and that I describe minimal damage that should be expected in antique items. They are probably right, as this is an antique/vintage item(s) and wears it's age well. Please check the pictures though and make sure that I did not miss any minor flaw that you might notice. Also notice, in the pictures how wonderful this item is.

I normally use UPS Shipping, and zip code on file at ebay. UPS will not ship to a PO Box. Insurance (up to $100) is included in the UPS price. I will combine items, if possible, for shipping. I ship USPS International Priority Mail anywhere outside of the US. I cannot ship International First Class as it does not allow me to insure items and I am now required by eBay to insure all items.
