Lenox presents an Annual Limited Edition Colonial Christmas Wreath Plate for Connecticut, The Fifth Colony. Each of the 13 Plates measures 10 1/2" with gold trim & exquisite graphics on a creamy ivory background. These are some of the most exquisite plates I have ever seen & would imagine they will become a most treasured collectible some day.
"Christmas 1985" is the fifth in a limited edition series of thirteen fine china plates depicting Christmas wreaths created with the materials that were cultivated in each of the thirteen original colonies.
On the Connecticut Wreath the rich muted colors of the plate reflect the Connecticut countryside in the fall. Dried goldenrod blossoms, mosses and strawflowers speak of the harvest season and the coming winter, and in wreaths like this, of the cheer and warmth in a colonial home.
