This sale is for a superb MID VICTORIAN hardback edition entitled “Every Man His Own Farrier,” by Francis Clater revised and much new matter added by D McTaggart, together with “Rarey’s Treatment and Management of the Horse” with a wonderful pull-out frontispiece depicting the name and situation of the external parts of a horse.

It was published by Milner and Company Limited, of London, and is undated, Mid Victorian, circa 1860’s or 1870’s

This fascinating little book is a detailed guide to horse management and an aid to the curing of diseases and ailments in horses and includes many vintage recipes.

This sweet little book measures 5.25 inches x 3.5 inches. There are lxiv (64) + 370 pages.

The book is in good condition for its age - sound, with wear/chips to the ends of the spine, and is blemished/faded to the bottom of the rear board.  The binding is good but the blank endpaper are missing.  The gold on the spine of the book is a little dull but is still good for its age.  There is no dust-jacket. 

A wonderful VICTORIAN edition.
