Format/Condition: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall: 131 pps.  Ex library with the usual library marks and defects.  Dust jacket is slightly worn on the edges,  at the corners and at the spine top and bottom.  Blue paper-covered boards are very slightly worn at the corners and spine top and bottom.  Pages are clean with no tears or writing. Book is tight and odor-free from a nonsmoking home.

Description:   A marvelously varied collection which has been drawn from the world's richest heritage of myth, legend and  folklore. Illustrations depict nine horses of folklore and classical literature, from the steeds of Norse mythology to Pecos Bill's Widow-Maker, and are accompanied by retellings of their stories.  Marvelous book.
