For five generations, the Sadeks have been re-creating nature's flowers and birds in lovely hand painted porcelain worthy of presenting for special occasions. Perfect for a gift- perfect for you!
Today we present this realistically beautiful White Magnolia #15704. It has a golden yellow cone surrounded by a dozen oval petals, which curve upward, shaded in the center from palest butter yellow to pristine white. A bud comprised of delicate hand-rolled petals emerges from it's leaf-like covering. Both Magnolia blooms are cradled in graceful, life-like green leaves and supported by a partially bark-covered branch.
Size: 2 1/2" tall, To emphasize a small figurine, place it atop a leather-bound book, or mirror on the table by the sofa. You could also place it beside a small 6" to 10" lamp so that it's circle of light illuminates the Magnolia. Try this in the corner of the powder room vanity. White or pale figurines look best when placed on something dark.

Building a Sadek Collection: When a new Andrea by Sadek style is introduced, it assuredly looks wonderful with retired pieces. For instance, I have three different Flycatchers. These birds were issued in different years, all are distinctive, yet their coloring, balance, and textures compliment each other as they stand in a group on the bathroom counter. I am so pleased with having them together as a set- but I only started out with one at a time.

For your pleasure, we share an image of the leaded Favrile glass window, entited 'Magnolia and Irises.' It was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) and made by Tiffany Studios in 1908. The 60 1/2"x 42" window hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Tiffany heralded landscape as an appropriate alternative to figural subjects for memorial windows, thereby conferring upon the natural world religious significance. This window, originally installed in a mausoleum in a Brooklyn cemetery, presents a familiar motif, the River of Life, with the slender stream zig-zagging through mountains and spilling into a placid pool in the middle ground of the composition. Masses of iris and two magnolia trees dominate the foreground and aptly illustrate the coloristic properties of Tiffany's famed opalescent glass. The folds and manipulation of the glass while it was in its semimolten state realistically simulates the texture of the magnolia blossoms.
