ROGER MARKS, black belt 4th Dan, is registered with the British Judo Council. He started Judo in 1961 at the Budokwai martial arts and Judo club in London. His subsequent training was with Masutaro Otani 8th Dan who, as president of the BJC, awarded him his black belt, and Robin Otani, the current president and senior grade of the BJC. Roger is a fully qualified coach and has been teaching since 1971. He currently teaches Judo at MovingEast in London.
 
AKINORI HOSAKA is graded 8th Dan by the Kodokan. He enjoyed a successful contest Judo career and has lived in the UK since 1962, where he has contributed a great deal to British Judo, including being National Squad Technical Coach for the British Judo Association, the UK leading body. He is currently Chief Examiner for the British Judo Council and Director of their Technical Centre for Excellence. He is also responsible for developing and establishing the Fundamental Principles of Judo certification courses for teachers. He has been the chief coach at the Sale Judo Club in Cheshire, UK, since 1972.
