Your Purchasing a Very Unique Looking Ceramic Pottery Bowl or Planter with a series of Goldfish around it.
In my 13 years of selling on Ebay I've never seen or come across one like this.
I have no idea if it is new, old, vintage or antique as there are no markings on the bottom but there is the usuall 3 pontil marks where it was turned or made on the stand or when placed into the oven for glazing.
This is quite a large bowl or planter and bigger then what you think from the photo's. In fact it's just about the size of a bowling ball.
It is in Excellent Condition with NO Chips, Cracks or Repairs. Even the inside of the planter is clean as though it never had anything in it.
There is 2 slight cracks in the glaze and that's all they are is a glaze crack and NOT a crack that means it's broken or cracked through. You have to look at it at just the right angle under the right light to even see them.
The Planter or Bowl is 9" across the middle at the widest part, 9" Tall or Deep and the top opening is 2 3/4".
I don't know if this was really meant to be a planter or not as you'd have a hard time getting your hand, dirt and a plant in the small opening. It may have been meant for dried flowers or materials to be designed in it. I really don't know.
Again: There is 2 large Goldfish on 2 different sides and one side that has 2 smaller goldfish with air bubbles all around the bowl.
Like I said, I don't know if this is old or new but I've never seen one before and it is Very Unique looking.
This item would make a Wonderful Addition to your Collection of Pottery or just to display in your home or office.
