60 YD Raised Pillar Casting Reel
Up for your consideration is this VINTAGE ANTIQUE 60 YD RAISED PILLAR CASTING REEL. This older raised pillar reel was fully tested and works but has a non-working clicker and is missing it's oil cups. There are no other missing parts. This version has a Rubber Handle knob! This one is ALL-ORIGINAL the way it was found! This has not been cleaned, taken apart, or even wiped down for our photos. One needs to look through the dirt and grime and see the history of the reel!
REEL MARKINGS: No makers marks or names were found. The reel appears to be a PFLUEGER TRADE REEL but we can't be sure. This reel is not marked Pflueger, however due to the shape of the foot plate we believe the reel was made by Pflueger years ago. The foot plate is stamped with a 60. No other markings were found. The exact age is unknown but believed to be pre-1920's era.
REEL CONDITION: The plates measure aprox. 1-13/16" in diameter. The pillars are aprox. 1-3/8" wide. Both oil cups are missing. The clicker button slides as normal but the clicker itself is non-working. The spool brake button works and the brake slows nearly stopping the spool when engaged. This one is what we call a SMOOTH OPERATOR as the spool spins free and easy with the clicker in the on or off position. Both plates have general use and aging including: light hairline scratching, some light micro nicking, plate loss, scattered soiling, and tarnish or rust specks as seen. The handle is believed to be original and has the old rubber knob in fine condition. This is another nice old reel for any Raised Pillar Reel collection!
