This is a board book with a decorated pictorial cover.  The covers are a soft blue with a navy cloth spine.

The spine is tight  all pages are secure.  The pages are free from man-made markings, except for a  Christmas date and name dated 1911, Henry Mercer and another to.. at Christmas dated 1973.  They do show some  discoloration do to age, handling  and paper quality.  The illustrations are 2 recto and juxtaposed.  My research found only one other book at this time for sale and it was listed at over $300.00!!

The edges are straight and the corners are  tipped and dog eared.  The cover do have wear and some light damage do to age and handling.  The paper covers are chipped along the edges and the corners are rounded and puffy!  The bottom edge on the front (just directly below the girls hand has a has a small dinged area). There is light fading from age and light exposure.  Light soiling from handling and age and the wear along the top and bottom edges was  probably caused from shelf storage.

The spine is tight and all pages are secure.  The pages are made of thick paper and need to be turned carefully or they will bend  and crease.  One page has a crease cause by improper turning, (see photo)  The pages are slightly discolored from age and paper quality and show some light smudges from fingers.  I have never seen this book before and can truly say it is rare from the research I have done.
