This is a very very good, near fine, Hardcover copy of the 1979 1st Edition of  JUST ABOVE MY HEAD,  by  the famed JAMES BALDWIN.   James Baldwin's signature is flat signed,  in large gold gilt writing of his signature, embossed into the front cover;   there is no handwritten autograph in the interior of the book.

This is a large book,  597 pp. and one of the last works by Baldwin.  As with his other books,  he uses bold topics such as homosexuality,  Black poverty and Black social struggles.

FORMAT:   Hardback,  maroon fabric over boards,  with bright gold gilt lettering on spine and in the large embossed signature on front cover.  There is no dust jacket. 

CONDITION:   This book is straight, tighty bound,  with no markings, no writings, no stains or tears; no bumped corners,  no damages.  It is near fine.  with just the most minor edge wear on bottom edge from being on a shelf.  It appears to be unread.  As all our inventory,  this comes from a smoke free, pet free environment.
