Directory of the City of Allentown, Catasaqua [and Lehigh County, PA] - 1927 Baum & Weaber, 1927, 1344 pages This is a post-office and business directory of Allentown and Catasaqua followed by a directory of the remainder of Lehigh County. The directory
information covers 10,000's of individuals living in Lehigh County in 1927, and includes the primary resident's name, occupation, and street
address, and in some cases the name of the primary resident's mate or widow. There is also a business directory for the city of Allentown. A small amount of information from the Lehigh County portion of the directory is missing, from "Ivy Weaver" to the end of the "Z"s. PDF file on CD This auction is not for the actual books listed. Instead, the pages of these publications have been scanned into a PDF file and copied to a CD. This type of file can be read on any kind of computer (including Mac) using Adobe Acrobat Reader. This program can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website. Text-Searchable The pages of these publications have been carefully scanned to offer text that is easily readable. Each title is also text-searchable. Text-search capability allows the user to scan the entire text of the publication for specific names or places and is a very useful tool for research. Please be aware, if you see another auction for this kind of historical / biographical E-book and it is not listed as text-searchable - it most likely does not have that capability.
