Poly pellets are recommended and  used to effectively weight the lap pad, and all our weighted products currently made up to 50LBS.

DreamCatcher Blankets TM lap pads and blankets are  convenient to machine wash and dry as nothing needs to be removed first. The poly pellets are rounded and smooth and will not harm the user ,wear through the fabric or retain moisture causing mold, as  weighting materials such as aquarium gravel or stone. Nor will the outside of the blanket get gritty, as is the case with blankets weighted with sand. Care instructions included with each blanket.
 

The pellets are hypoallergenic and non-toxic according to the manufacturer. You will not need to worry about the health risks associated with sand(fine stone) or the nasty molding, odor  or insect problems that commonly occur with materials such as corn, popcorn, beans, rice.
