"Palace Size" Hand Made Antique Oriental Rug

Here is an awesome 142"x260" (APPROXIMATELY 12 FEET X 21 FEET LONG) antique oriental rug probably about 80-90 years old and in very good condition.

This is a consignment item at my gallery and I am not an expert on rugs, but I will try to answer any questions you may have. I forwarded some of the digital photos to a rug dealer and he said that there are two types of rugs look like this and that you can only tell them apart by the type of knot used.

One type is the Sparta (or Isparta, Turkey) which uses a Turkish Knot. The other type is the Kandahar (then India) which uses a Persian Knot. He is not local so he could not identify which type it is simply from digital photos (it would take an up close physical inspection to determine which type of knot is used), but he did say that both types are roughly of similar value.

You can see from the photos below that there are three professional repairs and a few places where it is worn, the worst spot being on the one side as you can see in the photos below but overall the rug is in really nice condition for its age. It is a bit dusty, but there are no stains and no pet smells, cigarette odors, etc. There is also no dry rotting or anything like that and the rug is solid and stable.

This is a 100% HAND MADE rug (this rug would have taken possibly several years to make depending on how many people worked on it) and is very rare especially because of its unusual nearly 21 foot long size, so if you like it and have need for a rug of this size, don't let this one get away!

Shipping is via freight carrier because of the size and weight and it will be thoroughly wrapped in plastic and securely attached to a skid for safe transport. Note that freight carriers deliver to the curbside or loading dock only. Price to the lower 48 states is $200.00 but let me know if your address is commercial and I will discount the shipping by $50.00. Of course local pick up is free. My Zip code is 40218.

	Q: hello, Have u checked with FEDEX ground on shipping? I just received a rug this size from Pittsburg for $69 shipping via FEDEX ground. A: The problem with this one is the weight- probably over 150 pounds plus the box size is too big and has to go freight because of that reason alone. It's one huge rug!
