The Herald Angels Sing" and "The Holly and the Ivy," the set also includes lighthearted takes on "Silver Bells," "Jingle Bells," and even a lightly jazzy "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" that recalls Ella Fitzgerald's famous version. Resolutely tasteful to the point of restrained, this is nonetheless a fine Christmas album for those who don't want to hear Bing Crosby again.
