GOLIGHT REMOTE CONTROLLED LIGHT REMOTES:
Golight Remote Control Type(s): Wired. The outer rubber cover of the remote can be removed so that the rear mounting plate can be attached to a mounting surface via 4 screws. The remote requires that a 2 inch hole be drilled in the mounting surface to accommodate the rear portion of the controller and wiring harness. The rear 'shaft' of the mount, in combination with the base plate secures the remote. A 20 foot harness is included (32 foot available). A joystick is provided to enable the operator to move the light in all directions. An on/off button and a separate fast and slow button are positioned on the remote for ease of reach and operation. 4 inches long by 2.5 inches wide by 1/2 inch thick. Rubber cover over polycarbonate back plate include buttons.
Golight Remote Functionality: A joystick controls up, down, left and right movement of motorized Golight. Pan and tilt function of the Golight continues while the joystick is depressed. When the operator releases the button, the Golight stops and holds position. On/off button included on the controller. Fast and slow button (turtle/hare) control speed of the motor during pan and tilt functions. 12 seconds for a full 370 degree rotation and 8 seconds for full tilt on fast mode. Slow mode is used to pinpoint accuracy at distance and is approximately 35 seconds for full rotation and 20 seconds for one full range tilt.
Replacement remote controls are readily available.
BEAM ANALYSIS: In the pictures below, we contrast the 65 halogen bulb (first picture) with the 35 watt HID bulb (second picture). While the halogen will reach 1800 feet, it is fairly weak at that range. However, it is far better than most other implementations of higher wattage halogen bulbs. The extra thick filament and quality Philips production make it a very effective halogen. However, the 35 watt HID bulb (the second picture) produces a tighter, bright white beam that chops through other lighting sources (street lamp) to provide consistent, true color visibility to distances of 3000 feet. This road ends at 2650 feet, but we have tested this light to at least 3500 feet. To be conservative, we commit to 2800 feet, since we have measured this test site.
