First edition of softcover printing of "Star Trek Phase II - The Lost Series" by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens, published 1997 by Pocket Books. In 1977, Paramount Studios was preparing the formation of its own television network, and the cornerstone of this new network was to be a new Star Trek series entitled "Star Trek : Phase II". All but one of the original cast had been signed, sets were constructed and scripts had been written. Two weeks before production was to begin, Paramount cancelled the network plans and shifted to feature film production instead. The result was "Star Trek : The Motion Picture". Gathered here is all of the behind-the-scenes information on the series that almost was, including the full script for the pilot episode, as well as never-before-seen colour artwork, storyboards, blueprints, technical information, and photographs. Book is in like new condition, free of any markings or creases.
