This about the single most stunning piece of silverplate I have seen in my life. I will do my best to describe it and hope my photos do this some justice. 
It is a cake, tidbit or brides basket. It is square in shape, with a looped and wire wrapped handle. It stands on 4 very ornate legs that are applied . There are deer, pheasant, rabbit, an own and a beetle to name a few on this nature inspired piece of victorian silverplate. The design cant be seen on the outside as you can see in my photos, it is only visible looking inside this wonderful piece. 
It measures approx 7 1/2 inches square, is 9 inches tall with handle up and about 3 inches tall with handle down. There are also repousse roses in the center.
The attention to detail is amazing!
The piece is marked on bottom Wilcox Silverplate ( with 2 crossed hammers in the center of the mark) Quadruple plate # 4777. It also has an engraved number which I feel is a household inventory mark. # 9939
Whoever owned this felt it needed marked and protected from theft or some such! I would mark it also....its just too beautiful for words!!
