A little note about the inspiration for these cuttings... In addition to my love for old fabric and old quilts, I also love old greeting cards and vintage ephemera. My mother first introduced me to the art of salvaging and recycling old paper through papercutting when I was a child. She kept boxes and boxes of magazine and catalog pictures, church bulletins, wrapping papers and greeting cards that she carefully clipped and snipped to later craft with or use in her Sunday School class. Today, my mother is in her 90s and her health is frail, but her spirit remains strong. We cherish any time we have left with her. I sit with her once or twice a week and work on paper cuttings and fabric applique cuttings as we spend quiet time together. In the tradition of old Victorian scrap paper crafters, and my own beloved mother, I am offering this lot of papercuttings that I cut from vintage greeting cards or other ephemera.
Please visit my Ebay store for more papercuttings and cutouts from vintage greeting cards. I specialize in creating handmade items using recycled or vintage fabrics, papers and embellishments. I have been recycling material into art and craft projects since I was a child - way before it became "chic" to "go green". It was simply what my mother taught me!
