3/4 oz Walnut Ink Crystals for an Aged, Primitive look

You are purchasing 9 teaspoons of walnut ink crystals (3/4 oz). You need only 1/2 teaspoon to 1 cup warm water to make a staining solution. You can add more or less to achieve lighter or darker results. This package will go a long way. Walnut ink crystals sell for $5.00 and more in scrapbook stores because you pay for a glass jar and a brand name label. This is the same product, packed in simple plastic baggy for lightweight shipping and lower cost for you.

Achieve the vintage - stained- age look with minimum effort. Use the walnut ink solution you make with these crystals, on your tags, dab some on your stickers to give them a new look, use it on twill tape or ribbon. Lots of possibilities. I have included several different tags in my photo to show different shadings and designs that can be achieved. The quarter on the bag is not included, it is used only to show the size of the bag of crystals that you are purchasing.

Once you make your solution, it will last a very long time. I use a ziplock bag to keep my solution in (gallon size), then you can place your tags or small file folders or whatever you are aging in the bag, seal the zipper and shake it around. I then place my items on newspaper to dry and you can blot with cheesecloth, paper towel, mesh, gauze all kinds of different things to get cool effects. You can also use a small spray bottle to put solution in and then spray your items to get cool droplet effects. So much fun!

The crystals will be sent to you in a zip top baggy. This will keep shipping costs down. You may then transfer them to an airtight container of your choosing, a film container, small tupperware or the like.
